Description:
This painting is important to me because it tells about my parents. My father used to be very careful about his heart. When he felt bad his face looked as in this picture. A soulful man. He then started to moon around the flat and speak silently. Mother would say: "oh, he's before the heart attack". It became a ritual. More or less once a year father was "before the heart attack". He did nothing, sat, looked outside the window - deep in thought he let his fingernails grow long. It lasted my whole adolescence. As a result after around 30 years father died of a heart attack. It was weird. He used to go to a well-known cardiologist in Warsaw, who thought father was fine. Maybe he didn't examine him at all? In the course of the 30 years father probably had a dozen heart attacks. Anyway, the cardiologist died of a heart attack himself several years before father did.
