I named the series "Sportsmen" so once I decided to paint a piece about sport. Of course, this is no professional championship. This is a hobbyist competition in a small, suburban stadium. I often did lettering jobs for the Visual Arts Studio at that time and I liked to include some slogans or texts in my paintings. On top it says: "Sport is health" and at the bottom: "Tobacco - an Enemy of Sport". But my sportsman is tough and proud. He is smoking his cigarette and he will surely win. I named this painting Finishing Line by mistake. I meant the Starting Line. It's a pity I repainted it. I don’t even know what's on it now. Probably one of the paintings depicting Agnieszka Osiecka's songs.
