Description:
The Saski Bar was a great place on Francuska Street in Warsaw, not far from the Visual Arts Studio where we used to go for some extra work. Sometimes we popped by on the way, usually around ten a.m. it was always full. A lot of people ate breakfast there and the food was really good. One could buy baked beans in tomato sauce, real tartar or sauerkraut stew. Many people ordered beer to wash this breakfast down and half past ten everybody was slightly drunk. There was a view on Francuska Street from the window, but instead I painted a green, Podhale region landscape with a brook. They are eating and looking at the street outside the window and they can't see it. (E.D.)
